The Peco Service And Meter Application form is designed to streamline the process of requesting new, modified, or discontinued electrical service for residential or commercial properties within the Peco service area. It requires detailed information from the applicant, including personal identification, service characteristics, load characteristics, and planned usage, to ensure that the service provided meets the customer's needs and complies with all relevant regulations. By carefully completing this form and submitting it to the designated regional office, customers can initiate, change, or terminate their electric service as per their specific project requirements.
Getting new electric service or upgrading existing infrastructure involves several steps, carefully outlined in the PECO Service And Meter Application form. This document serves as a comprehensive guide for customers, electricians, and contractors on how to prepare and submit applications for electric service and meter installations or modifications. At the form's outset, it is crucial to select the appropriate PECO regional office for the service location, a step that streamlines the processing of applications. The form requires detailed information including the customer's name, service location, billing address, and specific details about the electric service requested such as type, characteristics, and expected load. It mandates the inclusion of the applicant’s driver's license or social security number, underscoring PECO's commitment to security and customer verification. Additionally, it emphasizes the need for a tax ID number from electricians or builders, ensuring that all engagements are within the regulatory framework. The service request date, construction status, specific demands for heating, air conditioning, and other equipment loads must be clarified, highlighting the tailored approach PECO takes towards each application. Significantly, it points towards necessary compliance with the PECO Electric Service Requirements manual and the importance of obtaining an approved inspection. By capturing comprehensive data on power usage, the form aids in the accurate planning and provision of electric services, ensuring that customers' needs are met promptly and efficiently. It also outlines the steps to follow if discontinuing service or if the building is to be demolished, demonstrating a versatile understanding of customer scenarios. To ensure precise processing and adherence to local regulations, applicants are encouraged to provide complete and accurate information, as incomplete submissions may delay the process.

Filling out the PECO Service and Meter Application form is a systematic process that requires attention to detail to ensure that all necessary information is furnished accurately. The completion and submission of this form are crucial for individuals seeking to set up electric service, make changes to their current service, or conduct related matters with PECO. After submission, PECO will review the application to determine the next steps, which may include further communication with the applicant to clarify details or proceed with the service request. Understanding and carefully following the instructions below will facilitate a smooth application process.
Upon completion, review the application for accuracy and completeness before sending it to the designated PECO regional office. A thorough and accurately filled application assists PECO in processing your request more efficiently, paving the way for a smoother service initiation or modification.
Welcome to the FAQ section about the PECO Service and Meter Application Form. Here, you'll find answers to common questions that help simplify the process of applying for electric service and meter installations or upgrades.
How do I determine which PECO regional office to send my application?
Begin by looking at the top of the PECO Service and Meter Application form. You'll find a list of PECO regional offices categorized by areas they serve, such as Philadelphia County, Delaware & Chester Counties, Bucks & Montgomery Counties, and New Residential Construction for all counties. Select the office based on the geographical location of the service requested, check the appropriate box on your form, and then send your completed application to the address or fax number provided for that office.
What information is required to fill out the customer section of the form?
You need to complete the fields with the customer's name, the service location address, and either the customer's Driver's License Number or Social Security Number. Also, if applicable, include the PECO Energy pole number or Lot number. For services requiring an underwriter's inspection, use the service address as the reference. Lastly, if the customer has had a PECO billing account within the last 60 days, those details should be included too.
What details are necessary for the Electrician/Builder section of the application?
This section requires the electrician or contractor's name, address, and the Tax Identification Number. Additionally, you must specify where the response to this application should be sent and the preferred date by which you wish to receive it. This ensures that communications regarding the application are directed correctly and timely.
What happens if I don't provide complete information or if there's a delay in communication?
Incomplete information on your application may lead to delays in processing. To avoid this, ensure all required sections are fully completed and submit any accompanying documents, such as site plans or single-line diagrams, if applicable. Furthermore, the company emphasizes that if there's no further communication from the customer within 90 days of PECO's response, the request may be canceled. This highlights the importance of staying engaged and responsive throughout the process.
One common mistake when filling out the PECO Service And Meter Application is not carefully selecting the appropriate regional office for the area where service is requested, as noted in Section A of the instructions. Applicants often overlook this step, leading to delays in processing. It's essential to check the correct box to ensure the application reaches the right office.
In Section B, applicants frequently leave out the required identification information, such as the Driver's License Number or Social Security Number. This oversight can lead to issues in verifying the identity of the customer, further stalling the application process. Ensuring all fields, including the customer's name and service location, are fully completed with accurate information is crucial.
Another error occurs in Section C, where applicants must provide their PECO billing address or account number within the last 60 days. Sometimes people submit outdated information or omit this detail altogether, which complicates the establishment of service continuity.
Incorrect or missing electrician or contractor details in Section D also pose problems. The Electrician/Builder Tax Identification number and a clear indication of where to send the reply are mandatory. Failure to include these details can prevent the application from being processed efficiently.
Applicants often use vague terms in Section E when indicating the current construction status and when the PECO service is requested. Phrases like "as soon as possible" are not helpful. Providing specific dates ensures better planning and coordination for service initiation.
In Sections F through J, where specific service details, meter information, and heating/air conditioning preferences are requested, applicants sometimes make the mistake of providing incomplete or inaccurate information. Precise details regarding the type of request, service characteristics, and meter information are paramount for PECO to accurately meet the customer's needs.
Lastly, a significant mistake occurs when applicants fail to sign and date the application in Section O. An unsigned application is considered incomplete and cannot be processed. Ensuring the form is duly signed and dated is perhaps the simplest yet most critical final check before submission.
When individuals or businesses apply for electric service and meter installation with PECO, the main document used is the PECO Service And Meter Application form. This form outlines the customer's request and provides PECO with the necessary information to proceed with the service setup or change. However, alongside this primary application, various other forms and documents are frequently required to complete the process efficiently and comply with regulations. Understanding these additional documents can help applicants navigate the application process more smoothly.
In summary, while the PECO Service And Meter Application form is central to initiating service, these accompanying documents play critical roles in ensuring that the application is processed accurately and complies with all necessary regulations and standards. Applicants should prepare to gather and submit these materials to avoid delays and ensure a smooth setup of their electrical service.
